Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have been crowned 2026 Engen Champ of Champs winners after strong performances in the finals in Tshwane.
Chiefs claimed the Under 18 boys’ title with a 3 nil victory over East High Academy of Mpumalanga, completing an unbeaten tournament.
Sundowns Ladies won the Under 20 girls’ title with a 2 nil victory over RV United of the Western Cape without conceding a goal throughout the competition.

Cape Town Kite Festival Returns For 32nd Year

The Cape Town International Kite Festival returns this month, bringing colourful kites, family activities and a message of hope to the city.
The 32nd edition takes place on 24 and 25 October at Youngsfield Military Base in Ottery, with giant kites from local and international flyers, kite making workshops and entertainment.
Hosted by Cape Mental Health, the festival uses kite flying to encourage conversations about mental health, while every ticket and donation supports free mental health services in the Western Cape.
Deputy CEO Santie Terreblanche says the festival brings people together through hope, resilience and connection while making a meaningful impact.

Blairgowrie Pool Reopens After Community Effort

The Blairgowrie Community Association reopened the local swimming pool on Saturday, with residents gathering to celebrate the return of the facility.
The open day gave children and families an opportunity to enjoy the pool as volunteers marked the completion of months of work supported by community funding.
The association relies on volunteers and two full time staff members to maintain the facility and keep it running for residents.
The group says its goal is to create a space where children can swim, play and enjoy the summer.
