Organisers say the initiative is inspired by a historical military fitness test and is aimed at honouring fallen soldiers while supporting those who served.

US graduate earns doctorate at 85

An 85 year old graduate from Tennessee State University has completed his Doctor of Education degree, proving it is never too late to study.
Charles Dabbs, a Navy veteran, fulfilled a dream nearly 70 years in the making after beginning his studies decades ago and later returning during the Covid 19 pandemic to complete his doctorate.
He balanced his academic journey with a long career in public service and had already earned multiple degrees before taking on the challenge of a doctorate in his eighties.
Dabbs is now looking to give back by mentoring students and hopes to teach, continuing his lifelong commitment to education.
