Story 1
University of Pretoria's scientist Dr Keamogetswe Ramonaheng has received the Saul Hertz Award at the 8th Theranostics World Congress for her work in theranostics, a field that combines diagnostic imaging with targeted radiation therapy to improve cancer treatment.
Ramonaheng's work helps doctors give the right radiation dose to each patient.
This makes treatment safer and more effective for people with cancer.
She says the recognition shows that South African research and clinical practice are globally competitive.
