SA Guide Dogs to host Family Fun Day in Johannesburg

The SA Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind will host its annual Family Fun Day on Sunday, 8 March at its Johannesburg premises.
Visitors can enjoy a range of activities including a Best Dressed Puppy Parade featuring puppies in training, guide dog demonstrations and a blindfolded walk experience with trained dogs.
The event will also feature live entertainment, market stalls, food, a kids zone with games and face painting, and a raffle to win prizes.
Organisers say the event aims to raise awareness and support for the organisation’s work in training guide and assistance dogs for people with visual impairments.

Linden knitting project supports vulnerable families

Community Hours has partnered with the Linden Community Policing Forum to launch a monthly knitting and crocheting initiative at the Linden Police Station.
Volunteers of all skill levels will create scarves, beanies, gloves, and baby items to help vulnerable children, premature babies, and mobility-challenged residents.
The project also supports a plastic bottle-top recycling programme that provides wheelchairs while reducing waste.
Each session combines skill-sharing, donations, and community connection to make a tangible difference for local families.
