Story 2
Nonprofit organisation, Cheers To The Leaders, in partnership with the Gauteng Film Commission and the City of Johannesburg, screened an animated pilot film based on African cultural stories traditionally passed down by grandmothers for Grade-2 learners at Moses Kotane Primary School in Braamfischerville last week.
The film brings traditional stories to life through 2D animation, allowing children to see and engage with the tales while learning important lessons.
Each learner received a Screening Handbook with reflection exercises and a writing challenge to reinforce the themes.
Students watched the film, completed exercises and discussed the stories, while teachers noted the screening supported learning and strengthened cultural understanding.
