The organization addresses issues like poverty, lack of education, and substance abuse by offering safe spaces, after-school programs, literacy support, and job creation to build brighter futures..Founded in 2013, the 9Miles Project set out to introduce children from informal coastal areas to surfing. One of the organisation’s most impactful initiatives is the 100Wave Challenge, a community-driven fundraising surf event which raised over 176,000 rand.

South Africans Named World’s Most Generous

South Africans have been voted as the most generous people in the world. This is according to a new study by U.S.-based financial services company Remitly. The study surveyed 4,500 participants across 25 countries, assessing behaviours such as empathy, emotional support, patience, kindness, and a willingness to put others first. Reflecting the country’s well-known spirit of ubuntu and compassion, South Africa ranked first, followed by the Philippines and the United States. Brand SA CEO Neville Matjie has this to say:

Pretoria Ave & Katherine St Intersection Nears Completion

The Johannesburg Roads Agency has confirmed the final phase of work at the busy intersection of Pretoria Avenue and Katherine Street in Sandown. With surface laying complete, crews are now focusing on tarring, road markings, and pedestrian paving. Weather permitting, the upgraded intersection should be ready this year, improving traffic flow in Sandton's business district. JRA clarified that the work was part of planned reinstatement following essential water repairs by Johannesburg Water last year, not due to a road collapse

Finnish eyewear company IXI is preparing to launch smart glasses that look like ordinary spectacles but can automatically adjust focus based on the wearer’s needs.The glasses use eye-tracking sensors and liquid crystals in the lenses to instantly change prescription. IXI says this technology improves on traditional bifocal and varifocal lenses, which help with near and distance vision.By using a dynamic lens, IXI does away with fixed magnification areas.
