South Africans have been voted as the most generous people in the world. This is according to a new study by U.S.-based financial services company Remitly. The study surveyed 4,500 participants across 25 countries, assessing behaviours such as empathy, emotional support, patience, kindness, and a willingness to put others first. YES Surpasses 200,000 Youth Jobs

The Youth Employment Service has created more than 200,000 quality work opportunities for young South Africans. YES helps talented youth from disadvantaged backgrounds enter the economy. As the world’s largest fully private-sector-funded youth employment programme, it highlights the impact of strong public-private partnerships. Since 2021, YES has grown by more than 30% annually, with over 1,900 leading business funding internships. The programme has paid out more than R12.5 billion in youth salaries, reflecting significant private sector investment in the country’s future workforce.

Rand Water Maintenance Disruptions

The third stage of Rand Water’s infrastructure maintenance project begins today until Thursday.The work will involve valve and meter replacements on the F18 pipeline. The 54-hour maintenance taking place at the Eikenhof Pump Station, will affect several areas, including Roodepoort Deep, Meadowlands, Fleurho, Doornkop and Braamfischerville. Johannesburg mayor Dada Morero says residents may experience low pressure or outages, with full system recovery expected up to seven days.
