Primary school learners in Ekurhuleni are invited to take part in a drawing competition that promotes energy-saving and renewable energy awareness through art.
The initiative allows children to express their own ideas through freehand artwork, without help from adults or the use of AI.
The City of Ekurhuleni says they are looking for original ideas and want to get young learners thinking about energy efficiency.
Entries close on 6-March, with prizes totalling R20 000 available for learners and their schools.

Inclusive reading celebrated on World Read Aloud Day

Nal'ibali and the National Library of South Africa marked World Read Aloud Day on Wednesday by promoting inclusive reading for all kids.
For the first time, the official World Read Aloud Day story was created in South African Sign Language and all 11 official languages.
This meant Deaf children and those speaking different languages could also join in and enjoy the story.
Throughout February, families and communities are encouraged to read aloud to children across the country.
