Johannesburg launches ‘Meet the City’ investment retention programme

The City of Johannesburg has unveiled the "Meet the City" Investment Retention Programme an initiative designed to restore confidence, strengthen partnerships with existing investors and reposition Johannesburg as a city of opportunity.

The Acting Director from the Department Economic Development in the City of Johannesburg, Amukelani Kubayi, says the programme aims to support businesses that are already invested in the city, removing barriers that hinder economic growth.

Second Chance Matric Programme to host additional exam sittings

The Department of Basic Education says rewrite opportunities for selected subjects in the National Senior Certificate examinations are being offered to eligible candidates who missed papers due to valid reasons, with additional sittings scheduled under the Second Chance Matric Programme.

The Department has successfully concluded the 2025 National Senior Certificate examinations and says provinces reported high levels of stability, procedural consistency and compliance throughout the exam period.

Results will be released on the 13th of January 2026, following marking and moderation overseen by Umalusi to ensure fairness and credibility.

SA Rugby President hails Springboks’ outstanding 2025 season
