Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has been actively involved in preparing Eskom for the G20 summit and related energy discussions, focusing on energy security, affordability, and a just energy transition.
Ramokgopa says the power grid has shown exceptional stability and interruptions to the electricity supply could soon be a thing of the past.
He was speaking after an oversight visit to Medupi power station in Limpopo yesterday following the return online of Unit-4.
The unit went offline in 2021 after suffering an explosion shortly after reaching commercial operation, at the height of load shedding.

Wits University scientists launch anti-rhino poaching project

South African scientists have launched an anti-poaching campaign in which rhinos' horns will be injected with a radioactive material.
The group, from the Wits University say the process is harmless to rhinos but will allow customs officers to detect smuggled horns as they're transported across the world.
South Africa has the largest rhino population in the world, and hundreds of the animals are poached every year.
