Kaizer Chiefs launch first-ever Women’s team

The Kaizer Chiefs Football Club has launched their first ever ladies team marking a historic moment for the Club and for women's football in South Africa.
The team will be based in Johannesburg and will consist of 24 players, including former Banyana Banyana midfielder Mamello Makhabane, Zanele Kunyamane and Katlego Mohale.
Chiefs Marketing director, Jessica Motaung, says this aligns with the global direction football is taking and is also a commitment to the growth of women's football in the country.
She says the establishment of the team represents a clear commitment from the Club to invest in the women's game and to create meaningful opportunities for players.

South African Extreme open-water athlete Ryan Stramrood has become the third person to complete the 47km ultra-marathon around the St Helena island in the South Atlantic Ocean.
