Comic Con Africa returns to Johannesburg

Comic Con Africa is set to return to the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec from the 24th of September.
The event provides a platform for local creatives, gamers, artists and performers to showcase their talents while connecting with fans from across the country.
The seventh edition is expected to attract around 70-thousand visitors, offering fans an opportunity to immerse themselves in the worlds of comics, anime, gaming, cosplay and collectables.
Cosplay will take centre stage, with participants able to compete in daily competitions as well as the Colsplay Championships.
The overall winner will earn an expenses-paid trip to compete in the UK in 2027.

South Africa welcomes over 991,000 international tourists

South Africa has recorded over 991,000 international tourist arrivals in July, an increase of 12.5% compared to July 2025.
Arrivals from African markets increased by 14.3% year on year between January and July, while overseas arrivals grew by 5.7%.
Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille says the figures showed that growth is becoming more geographically diversified.
President Cyril Ramaphosa recently announced that Tourism is part of four key sectors that have been identified to drive inclusive economic growth, job creation and build confidence under Phase three of the Government-Business Partnership, Operation Vulindlela.
