600 km MegaWalk to raise funds and awareness for children with disabilities

Two friends will be taking on a gruelling 600-kilometre journey on foot from Johannesburg to Durban in support of children living with disabilities.
Vusumuzi Mbambani and Molelekwa Mahoko will undertake the MegaWalk from the 1st of September to the 1st of October, using the challenge to raise funds and awareness for children with disabilities.
The journey also aims to inspire people living with disabilities and highlight the importance of creating greater opportunities and inclusion within communities.

National Parks Week offers free access to participating parks

The 21st SA National Parks Week will take place from the 7th to the 13th of September, giving South African citizens and residents free day access to participating national parks across the country.
The initiative, which is led by the South African National Parks, aims to encourage people to experience South Africa's natural heritage while promoting appreciation for conservation and the country's protected areas.
Visitors will need to present a valid South African identity document to qualify for free entry, while children under the age of 18 will not be required to provide identification.
Free access applies exclusively to day visitors.

Volkswagen and LEAP Institute expand support for STEM education in South Africa

Volkswagen Group Africa in partnership with the LEAP Institute, officially opened the LEAP 9 Science and Mathematics School in KwaNobuhle, in the Eastern Cape last week.
The project forms part of Volkswagen’s 75th anniversary celebrations in South Africa and highlights its cradle-to-career strategy to bolster Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics skills for the manufacturing and automotive sectors.
The school is the first of its kind in the Eastern Cape.
