The 2026 WomenCan Awards recently took place at The Divine Sunset Venue in Midrand, celebrating women who have overcome adversity and made a meaningful impact in their communities.

The event marked the close of Women's Month by spotlighting female leaders, entrepreneurs, and survivors who are breaking boundaries across business, education and social impact.

Among those celebrated was the founder of the Lethabo Foundation, Relebohile Msiza, who was diagnosed with cancer while studying at university before going on to establish her own business.

The City of Tshwane is calling on residents to support the The Bigg Pull 2026 community charity drive.
The challenge that is organised by Gentle Giant Promotions, will see 20 strength athletes, known as the Power Team, attempt to pull a truck over one-thousand-650-kilometres from Pretoria to Cape Town, over a period of 41 days.

The team will depart from the South African Air Force Base in Centurion on the 2nd of November
and is expected to arrive in Cape Town on the 12th of December.
Tshwane mayor Nasiphi Moya’s spokesperson, Samkelo Mgobozi, says the initiative aims to raise much-needed funds for various charity organisations.

The 21st SA National Parks Week will take place from the 7th to the 13th of September, giving South African citizens and residents free day access to participating national parks across the country.

The initiative, which is led by the South African National Parks, aims to encourage people to experience South Africa's natural heritage while promoting appreciation for conservation and the country's protected areas.

Visitors will need to present a valid South African identity document to qualify for free entry, while children under the age of 18 will not be required to provide identification.
Free access applies exclusively to day visitors.
