Pantomime raises funds for Salvazione School in Johannesburg
Story 1
A one-man pantomime at Melville’s 27 Boxes brought laughter and support for Salvazione School, which serves children from Slovo Park on the borders of Mayfair West and Brixton.
Actor Katlego Nche’s show, Silent Wonder, uses minimal words, allowing children of all ages and abilities to engage through play. The performance was especially effective for children with special needs or those who have experienced trauma.
Salvazione School’s fundraising manager, Eléonore Godfroy, said the event showed the power of community and collaboration.
Funds raised will go towards bursaries and keeping the school open, ensuring children continue to have access to education and creative opportunities.
