Cross-continental mission backs Uganda’s largest skatepark project
Teaser / Tailpiece story
A cross-continental mission is underway to support the development of what could become Uganda’s largest skatepark, aimed at providing young people with a safe space through skateboarding.
Skateboarder and activist Jason Vanporppal is currently travelling from East to Southern Africa on a community-focused journey.
The project was inspired by his friendships with Ugandan skaters Isaac and Ephraim and has grown into a wider effort to build a permanent skate space.
The initiative shows how skateparks can support youth development by offering structure, belonging and positive activity.
