Hands of Maraisburg, a Johannesburg based volunteer group, has cleared an overgrown pavement along Albertina Sisulu Road between Maraisburg and Bosmont to restore access for a wheelchair user.
The route had been blocked for months by thick grass and bushes, leaving resident Bernadette Francois unable to reach healthcare, food and church services.
The clean-up has now reopened the pathway, making it safe and usable again for people with mobility challenges.

American skateboarder Jason Vanporppal has completed an extraordinary 106 day journey across Africa, finishing in Cape Town after travelling thousands of kilometres through seven countries.

University of Pretoria Radiography students and lecturers took part in a Bags of Hope outreach at an orphanage for abandoned babies in the Tshwane district.
The team distributed personalised gifts to infants and caregivers while also engaging with staff to better understand the backgrounds and challenges faced by the children.
Students also learned about the health impacts of substance exposure during pregnancy and spent time feeding and comforting the babies during the visit.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening both community support and practical training for future healthcare professionals.
