Safer street campaign launched at Rand Park High School
Story 1
Ward 134 councillor Devon Steenkamp has launched the safer school streets campaign at Rand Park High School, as part of a broader effort to prioritise learner safety and to improve traffic flow in school zones.

The campaign focuses on the school and its surrounding roads and calls on Johannesburg Roads Agency, to consider implementing a one-way traffic system to help ease traffic congestion during peak hours.

Steenkamp confirmed his engagement with the JRA and the JMPD, who are conducting ongoing traffic studies in the area.

The officials have hinted that a temporary one-way system may be considered as a first-phase solution.

Residents are encouraged to participate in a short survey in order to assist in the implementation of the safety proposal.
