Legendary Musician Selaelo Selota will be celebrating 25 years in the music industry with a nationwide tour that will kick off in Emperos Palace from the 23rd of August.

From humble beginnings in Polokwane to the global stage, Selota’s music has touched hearts and generations across South Africa.

The gifted guitarist, vocalist, composer, and producer has carved out a unique space in the South African music landscape, blending traditional Sepedi sounds with jazz, Afro-soul and contemporary musical elements.

The tour which is a powerful tribute to the legends enduring influence and artistry highlighting decades of soulful storytelling, African rhythms and world-class performances.

The tour will include performances in major cities such as, Polokwane with additional dates and venues to be announced in the coming weeks.

Ngqura welcomes the largest container vessel in its history

The Port of Ngqura in the Eastern Cape has welcomed the largest container vessel ever to dock at the harbour.

MSC Nicola Mastro, a 400m-long ultra-large container ship arrived on Thursday and was tugged into the terminal by four tugboats in an operation that lasted more than three hours.

Port officials and local stakeholders say the development is not only a boost for the province’s economy but also a clear signal to international shipping of the port's world-class capabilities.

The operation is seen as a major step in positioning the province as a key player in global trade.

14 year old Imkhitha Joya from Nyanga in Cape Town has been invited to represent South Africa at the World Youth Chess Championships in Albania this October and the African Youth Chess Championships in Algeria in December, a remarkable achievement that speaks to the power of passion, discipline and belief.

The two tournaments mark pivotal moments in the young player's development and are stepping stones on her path to becoming a Woman International Master and eventually a grandmaster.

As one of South Africa’s brightest young talents in chess, Imkhitha has also earned national recognition
earlier this year, when she was crowned South African U14 Girls Chess Champion after finishing undefeated at the Junior Closed Chess Championships.
