City Power is urging qualifying residents to urgently register for its Free Basi​c Electricity Programme

City Power has launched a progressive registration campaign targeting 130 000 indigent households across Johannesburg, offering 50kWh of free electricity monthly to qualifying residents.

City Power’s General Manager for the Department of Public Relations and Communication, Isaac Mangena, says the Free Basic Electricity programme, will provide eligible customers with monthly electricity allocations at no cost, designed to cover essential household needs, including lighting, cooking, and heating.
Mangena says pensioners, child-headed homes and people earning below average salary may apply.

The power utility says the registration initiative will run until the 31st of July.

Springboks vs Italy second test match to be aired on SABC and SuperSport

The South African Broadcasting Corporation in collaboration with SuperSport, will broadcast the second test match between the Springboks and Italy on Saturday the 12th of July.

The partnership forms part of a broader campaign marking 30 years of Springbok Rugby excellence, while highlighting the nation’s triumphant first Rugby World Cup win in 1995.

Both the SABC and SuperSport broadcasters will roll out a celebratory content line-up throughout the month of July, in honour of the legacy and impact of Springbok Rugby.

The announcement was at the Springbok Store in Sandton City.

The study highlighted strong engagement across all timeframes—from daily to monthly usage.
