15-year-old Curro Rivonia cross-country rider Triston Spencer has won the 2025 Cross Country 424 High School Championship after recovering from ICU.
Spencer who overcame a crash in August, dominated 6 laps of a 30km loop despite a broken gear lever.
Spencer spent a week in ICU and two days in hospital after the accident.
He says finishing the race was a huge accomplishment, but winning his class and the overall championship made all the pain and frustration worth it.

Teddy bears can be dopped-off at the beach, and the groups are hoping to collect at least 1,000 bears to deliver some comfort to young patients.
