The New Market Motor Co has donated 100 new chairs to Ligstad in Alberton, helping create a more comfortable and welcoming space for children, senior citizens and families taking part in its community programmes.
The chairs are already being used in preschool and after school activities, skills development programmes and community outreach initiatives, benefiting hundreds of people each year.
Ligstad says the donation by Nico Grobler and his team at The New Market Motor Co will support its work to serve vulnerable members of the community.

South Africa has reached 441 consecutive days without load shedding, with Eskom reporting improved power station performance, fewer unplanned outages and reduced reliance on diesel powered generation.
The utility says electricity demand has been met throughout the current winter period, while increased generation capacity and improved system reliability continue to support a stable power supply.
Eskom has also removed about 1.2 million customers from load reduction schedules and plans to eliminate load reduction nationwide by 2027.

Learners and parents from Revival City College have donated dog food to the Alberton SPCA to help care for abandoned, neglected and rescued animals.
The donation will support the SPCA's efforts to provide food, shelter and medical care for animals while they wait to be adopted into loving homes.
The school thanked its learners and parents for their generosity, as the Alberton SPCA continues to rely on community support to care for animals in need.
