A 100 kilometre charity run in KwaZulu Natal has raised more than R549,000 to support rangers protecting wildlife.
The Run for Rangers event, which featured 22 runners, raised funds for Project Rhino, with the money going towards ranger equipment, training and new kennels for a K9 anti poaching unit.
The initiative forms part of Sport for Lives and aims to strengthen support for teams working to protect rhino and other wildlife.

Actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry is helping an 81 year old woman in Markham, Illinois, after a burst pipe left her unable to return to her home for more than six months.
Brenda Daurham faced a lien of nearly 18 thousand dollars after a restoration company carried out repairs following the February flood, while her insurance claim remained disputed.
After her story was reported by FOX 32 Chicago, Perry stepped in to pay the lien and is providing additional assistance to help restore her home.
Daurham says she is grateful for the help and the support she has received from the community
