A former dumping ground in Eldorado Park has been transformed into a colourful public art walkway celebrating Khoi San heritage.
New murals on Epsom Street tell stories of indigenous leaders, language and history, while showcasing words such as kwagga, , gogga and eina, which have roots in Khoi languages.
The artwork also honours figures including David Stuurman and Ouma Katrina Esau, while sharing stories of the Khoi San communities that settled in the area.

Kendra de Beer Wins Back to Back African Cup Titles

South African judoka Kendra de Beer has won her second consecutive African Cup title in the under 19 women’s 63 kilogram category.
The Reddam House Helderfontein student defended her title at the Johannesburg Junior African Cup before travelling to Morocco for the African Judo Championships, where she finished fifth.
She is now preparing for the Region 5 Games in Mozambique in December.

A Johannesburg wellness breakfast brought women together last Saturday to focus on their wellbeing and take a break from the responsibilities they carry every day.
Hosted by Norleen Zulu, the Woman Within Wellness Breakfast encouraged women to reflect on their roles as mothers, caregivers, professionals, entrepreneurs and leaders, while creating space for honest conversations and personal growth.
The event included interactive sessions led by speakers including Raeesa Essop Tayob, Anesu Mautsa, Nomfundo Madonsela, Dr Masooda Essop and Thato Ncube. Women were encouraged to release emotional burdens, challenge long held beliefs and reconnect with themselves.
