The Department of Health in Gauteng has encouraged newly graduated nurses to serve with compassion, integrity and a dedication to excellence.

The Gauteng college of nursing is hosting the graduation ceremonies of 940 nurses this week.

The Department's Spokesperson Motaletale Modiba says they are committed to ensuring all graduates with a diploma in nursing are registered with the South Aftican nursing council.

Western Cape honours top teachers at 2025 provincial awards

The Western Cape Department of Education celebrated the province’s top teachers at the 2025 Western Cape Provincial Teaching Awards.

Fifteen outstanding teachers were recognized across various categories, for their dedication and impact in the classroom.

Charissa Shay-Sithole from Apex High School, received the Excellence in Teaching Mathematics award, while the National Best Teacher award went to Wedaad Esau from Bridgeville Primary School.

MEC David Maynier says the winners will now go on to represent the province as nominees for the National Teaching Awards, which will take place in October.
