30th Soweto Marathon set for 29 November

The 30th edition of the annual Soweto Marathon will take place on the 29th of November, starting from Nasrec, into Soweto township and finishing at the FNB Stadium.

The Marathon is renowned for its standard 42 km route, which takes in eight significant heritage sites including the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, the Walter Sisulu Square, Regina Mundi Catholic Church and the Hector Pieterson Memorial among others.

The prize money remains equal for both the men’s and women’s categories, with the top prize for the 42.2km winner set at R250 000.

FlySafair launches new Cape Town–Hoedspruit route

The Low-cost carrier FlySafair has announced a new flight route connecting Cape Town to Hoedspruit in Limpopo.

The group says the flight will enhance access to the central Kruger region and the wider Limpopo province, complementing the existing route to Mbombela.

The new route is expected to expand general domestic connectivity.

Limpopo Premier Dr Poppy Ramathuba has welcomed the launch of a new flight route which aims to promote economic growth and unlock the potential of the province.

Thousands of UNISA students who were unable to graduate during the height of the COVID-19 restrictions, have finally celebrated their long-awaited moment of achievement.

Graduates were honoured across various fields of study, with more than 115 thousand students from the classes of 2020 and 2021, who were recognised in special ceremonies.
