The Maldives has introduced a ban on tobacco for anyone born on or after January 1, 2007.
The law prohibits purchasing, using, or being sold tobacco products, applying to both residents and visitors.
Retailers must verify age before selling, and penalties include fines of up to 50,000 rufiyaa for selling and 5,000 rufiyaa for vaping.
The ban also covers all forms of electronic cigarettes and vaping products for all ages.
Officials said the measure aims to protect public health and establish a tobacco-free generation.
