Residents honour local responders with barbecue bash
Story 1
Families gathered in Moot, Pretoria, for a day of fun, food, and fellowship to celebrate the Community Response Group’s (CRG) dedication to keeping the area safe and connected.
The CRG, a volunteer organisation, assists with community safety initiatives such as local patrols, emergency support, and neighbourhood wellbeing programs.
Event organiser Jacques Engelbrecht said the barbecue was about giving back to those who give so much. Children enjoyed play areas and games, visitors watched a dog show, and six teams competed in a barbecue smoking contest. Local bands performed throughout the day.
All funds raised were donated to the CRG in appreciation of their tireless work, reinforcing the spirit of community in Moot.
