Johannesburg will soon see its first full-sized inner-city soccer field through the Field of Dreams initiative.
Led by the Maharishi Invincibility Institute with support from Standard Bank, Italtile, BW Cares, and former cricket captain Ali Bacher, the project provides safe play spaces for children.
The field is part of the Education Town campus, linking sport with learning and skills development for youth from nearby townships.
The initiative complements SafeHub programmes that offer after-school activities, tutoring, and mentorship.
Officials said the project reflects a commitment to community, education, and the future of Johannesburg’s children.

British reggae legends UB40 featuring Ali Campbell will return to South Africa in June 2026 for a three-city tour.
The group will perform in Cape Town on 2 June, Durban on 4 June, and Pretoria on 6 June, bringing fans a night of timeless reggae hits.
Presented by Big Concerts, the tour celebrates the band’s legacy with classics like Red Red Wine and Kingston Town, along with newer material.
Tickets go on sale to the public on 7 November 2025, with several presales available earlier.
The visit adds South Africa to the band’s ongoing world tour schedule for 2026.

India has successfully launched its heaviest communication satellite, CMS-03, from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
Weighing 4,410 kilograms, the satellite will support secure communication links for the Indian Navy between ships, aircraft, and submarines.
CMS-03 was sent into orbit aboard the upgraded LVM3-M5 rocket, an evolution of the vehicle that launched India’s unmanned lunar craft in 2023.
The launch marks another milestone in India’s expanding space programme, which includes plans for crewed missions and lunar exploration.
Officials say the mission strengthens India’s position in global space research and technological innovation.
