Jozi My Jozi is helping bring Johannesburg’s inner city back to life through coordinated infrastructure and safety upgrades.
CEO Innocent Mabusela says the organisation has already transformed parts of the Ellis Park precinct, installing more than 300 solar streetlights, while also repairing roads and improving walkways.
The initiative works with around 140 partners from business, civil society and education to deliver projects including public space upgrades, clean-ups and improved emergency response.
Mabusela says the focus is on visible action that restores functionality and pride in the city:

The Miss South Africa organisation invites South African women aged 20 to 32 to apply.
Selected contestants will complete a development programme that trains them in leadership, communication and community engagement, with support from the Empower Youth Africa initiative.
The programme prepares participants to work on community projects and take on public leadership roles.

The New York Times released its list of the 30 Greatest Living American Songwriters, including Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, Jay-Z and Bob Dylan.
Carey, who has written or co-written all her No. 1 singles, earned a place on the list alongside artists such as Lionel Richie, Carole King and Lana Del Rey.
She thanked The New York Times and described the honour as significant, saying in a post: she is grateful for the “incredible honour” and values being recognised as a songwriter above anything else.
