Hillcrest School Fashion Challenge uses delivery bags

Teachers and learners at Hillcrest Primary School in KwaZulu-Natal took part in a fashion challenge using Checkers Sixty60 delivery bags.
Mrs Byram and Mrs Storm joined LEAP class learners in designing outfits from the packaging during a 60-minute classroom activity.
The teachers cut and styled the materials alongside learners to create wearable outfits.

Polokwane pupil to represent SA at Chess Championship

A Grade 3 pupil from Flora Park Comprehensive Primary School in Polokwane, Limpopo will represent South Africa at the Commonwealth Chess Championship in Sri Lanka.
Eight-year-old Ntokoto Mashava is among 20-South African chess players aged eight selected for the tournament in May.
Mashava secured his place after winning a regional chess competition in March.

South Africa’s defending champions in the 4×100-metres, Bayanda Walaza, Shaun Maswanganyi, Bradley Nkoana, and Akani Simbine powered to victory in Heat 3 of the World Athletics Relays in Gaborone on Saturday, clocking the distance in 37.68 seconds.
The 4×400 metres squad featuring Gardeo Isaacs, Zakithi Nene, Lythe Pillay, and Antonie Nortje dominated Heat 2 in 2 minutes 58.04 seconds.
Both teams secured automatic qualification for yesterday's finals.
While South Africa’s women’s 4x400m team set a new national record, it was not fast enough for them to make the final 8.
