Randfontein professional nurse Khomotso Comfort Ramabokela (29) has been nationally recognised after safely delivering a baby in a parking lot near Randfontein Private Hospital.
Comfort was called to assist a woman in labour whose baby’s head was already crowning.
Using his experience from working in the hospital’s emergency and labour wards, and his midwifery training from Vaal University of Technology, he acted quickly despite the challenging conditions.
He placed the woman in the back seat of a car, ensured privacy with a sheet, and maintained a safe, sterile environment for the delivery.
The moment the baby cried and the mother shed tears of joy was a proud highlight for Comfort.
