Gauteng Government and AIDC Empower youth through the Atomotive Sector

The Gauteng Department of Economic Development, hosted a successful Youth Stakeholder Engagement, in collaboration with the Automotive Industry Development Centre, at the AIDC facility in Tshwane.
The event brought together youth, industry leaders, civil society and government stakeholders to deliberate on the critical role played by young people in shaping the future of South Africa’s automotive industry.
Finance and Economic Development MEC, Lebogang Maile, says the country must ensure that the youth is not left behind, but rather positioned at the forefront of the sector’s transformation.

Western Cape on track towards energy security

The Western Cape province remains on track to reach the target of generating 5 700MW of energy by 2035.
This was reflected in the Western Cape Government’s Energy Dashboard, which provided an update of the progress of various public-private sector initiatives in the province.
The province has seen around 1 000MW of non-Eskom generation coming into it's power system in the last year.
One of the largest independent power producers has set up its headquarters in Cape Town, offering renewable energy solutions across the province.

Bolt Invests over R400 00 to support emerging entrepreneurs

E-hailing company Bolt has invested over R400,000 in funding for ten emerging South African entrepreneurs, marking the end of its first-ever Accelerator Program in the country, in partnership with The Gauteng Department of Economic Development.
The initiative, which was launched with the startup academy Pranary, was open to drivers and couriers on Bolt’s platform.
Bolt’s Accelerator Program reflects its broader aim to empower its driver and courier community with opportunities beyond the ride.
