Wits Business School Collects 600 Shoes for Kids in Need

A shoe donation campaign launched by the Wits Business School's Sustainability Committee has exceeded expectations collecting nearly 600 pairs of school shoes for children in need.
The "Walk a Child to School" campaign, which started with a goal of 300 pairs gained momentum after MBA students and staff rallied behind the cause.
Last month the shoes were handed over to learners at Mid-Ennerdale Primary School in a special ceremony attended by representatives from the Gauteng Education Department and Wits Business School officials.
The event featured school choir performances and heartfelt gratitude from the school and local officials.

Digital reading program, MobiReadathon, that's been making waves in Johannesburg is now rolling out to municipalities nationwide.
Launched in 2022 by the City of Johannesburg's libraries, the program uses mobile devices to improve high school students' literacy skills.
The program provides access to eBooks, online libraries, and interactive storytelling apps, bridging the literacy gap and introducing learners to a wide range of digital reading and writing resources.
With its expansion, MobiReadathon aims to empower students across the country, enhancing their literacy skills and opening doors to new opportunities.
