The Albion Wheelers Cycling Club, Johannesburg’s largest road cycling group, successfully completed their Alberton to Durban Cycle Tour.This is a four-day, 700km challenge featuring more than 6,200m of climbs. Thirty-two cyclists rode from Brackendowns to Durban, raising 25,000 rand for Bambanani Southdale Community Service, an organisation supporting disadvantaged communities. Tour Director Michael Hayes said the tour showcased the club’s dedication to giving back while pushing riders’ endurance and teamwork to the limit.

Seven of South Africa’s most celebrated football legends were honoured during the South African Hall of Fame’s second Soccer Legends Induction ceremony, which was held at the Silverstar Casino in Krugersdorp. Sports administrators, former players, fans and dignitaries paid tribute to icons whose contributions have shaped the country’s football landscape. Among those inducted were former Bafana Bafana captain Aaron Mokoena, Banyana Banyana defender Janine van Wyk, World Cup hero Mark fish, prolific striker Mark Williams and midfield maestro Doctor Khumalo.

Four Grade 10 pupils from Camps Bay High School have been selected to join the Cape Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. The CPYO which is part of the Cape Philharmonic Music Academy, aims to provide young musicians with the opportunity to perform at a professional level and develop their skills within a full symphony orchestra.Candidates auditioning for the orchestra were required to perform excerpts from orchestral works by Mozart.
