Honeydew Community Policing Forum will host an Elderly Fraud Awareness Talk later this month, aimed at helping residents protect themselves from online and banking scams. The session will take place on January 20th at Tin Road Church Bromhof. The talk is open to elderly residents, as well as family members, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning more about fraud prevention. According to the Honeydew Community Policing Forum, the session will focus on common forms of online and banking fraud that often target elderly people. These include scam messages, phone calls pretending to be from banks, and online tricks designed to steal personal or financial information.

The Two Oceans Marathon has officially been confirmed for the weekend of the 11th to the 12th of April 2026, marking another milestone as one of South Africa’s premier road races.

A Northern Cape police sergeant has been praised for her compassion and community spirit after donating food, clothing, toys, and snacks to four vulnerable children in her neighbourhood. SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Thabo Litabe said the initiative was led by Sergeant Lillian Moroka of the Provincial Firearms, Liquor and Second-Hand Goods Unit. Moroka identified the children earlier this year while travelling home from work and began saving money to support them.
