Rivonia Woman to Climb Mount Toubkal for Sandton SPCA
Story 2
Rivonia resident Vicky Tu is set to climb Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak, to raise funds for the Sandton SPCA’s inspectorate division.
The 37-year-old will tackle the 4 167-metre Moroccan mountain for the first time from March 30 to April 1, joining Kusudi La, a non-profit that organises “adventures with a purpose.” Tu, a regular volunteer at the SPCA, says the climb is her way of giving back and supporting the animals she loves.
Funds raised will go specifically towards the SPCA’s inspectorate, whose vehicles are in disrepair, affecting their ability to respond to animals in distress. Tu has set a target of R42 000, aiming to raise R10 for every metre of the mountain’s height.
