Gauteng Launches Digital Tender System to Curb Corruption
Story 1
Gauteng Finance MEC Lebogang Maile has launched TendaSwift, a digital tender procurement system aimed at reducing corruption and improving transparency in government procurement.
The platform digitises the entire tender process, from creation and advertising to bid submission, evaluation, and contracting, giving all suppliers equal access.
Early results from the pilot phase, run in several provincial departments earlier this year, show faster approvals, better compliance, and strong support for SMMEs, with over 8,000 suppliers submitting 165,000 invoices valued at R35.6 billion.
