St Stithians Learners Make Film History

A group of St Stithians College learners has made history as the first South African school selected for the All-American High School Film Festival in New York.
Their student-made film, The Play (or the Failure Thereof), was chosen from more than 2,500 entries across 40 countries and will be screened in October.
The Grade 10 and Grade 11 learners produced the film themselves, handling the writing, acting, filming, and editing.
The achievement highlights the growing talent of young South African filmmakers on the international stage.

South African Artwork Gains Global Recognition

Gqeberha artist Farook Mohammed has received international recognition after his artwork Makoti Painting was nominated for the Global Arts Prize for Innovation from more than 10,000 entries worldwide.
The artwork celebrates the strength and diversity of African women while raising awareness about gender-based violence and promoting unity.
Mohammed uses his art to tell African stories and highlight social issues affecting communities.

Kiddichella 2026 will launch at Zoo Lake Sports Club in Johannesburg on 12 and 13 September, bringing families together for a new festival of activities, creativity and entertainment.
Organisers expect thousands of visitors to attend the two-day event, which includes children’s activities and brand experiences.
The festival was created to give families a space to spend time together and explore.
