The Tshepo Makole Youth Empowerment Foundation has expanded its food relief programme in Soweto as rising living costs put pressure on vulnerable households.
The foundation has distributed food parcels to elderly people, families, children and women relying on social grants.
The initiative has reached communities including Naledi, Dube, Jabulani, and Dobsonville, with support from the Gold Rush Foundation and Daniel Tshepo Makole’s ministry.
The foundation plans to expand its reach and provide more food support to families affected by rising living costs.

South African learners have achieved a top result at the inaugural World Spelling Bee Championships in Shanghai, China.
The team finished fourth overall, making South Africa the highest-ranked African country at the competition.
Yesterday, the Department of Basic Education officially welcomed the team home.

A group of 42 artists has raised R8,550 for the Kempton Park SPCA through a community fundraiser inspired by Floki, a rescue dog adopted from the shelter.
The Paint for a PurPAWS event brought together artists and animal supporters who created portraits of Floki while raising money to help care for dogs and cats waiting for adoption.
The fundraiser forms part of ongoing community efforts to support animal welfare, with more initiatives planned to assist local rescue organisations.
