Today marks the start of National Science Week 2025, held under theme "Science, technology and innovation are for everyone".
The week focuses on activities such as research dialogue sessions, science cafés and exhibitions across South Africa, with the aim to close the gap between society and science.

Durban is now the first South African city to join the World Trade Center Association, a big step for the city's economy.
The eThekwini Municipality launched South Africa's first World Trade Center in Durban, expected to boost the city's economy and increase its global visibility.
With this membership, Durban joins a network of over 300 World Trade Centers in nearly 100 countries, including cities like New York, Tokyo, Amsterdam, and Nairobi.
eThekwini Municipality's Thembo Ntuli says this license grants Durban access to an international ecosystem of over one million affiliated companies, opening up new opportunities for local businesses to expand globally:
