Golden Oldies Raise R150 000 at Annual Charity Golf Day

The Modderfontein Golden Oldies Community and Hockey Association hosted their annual Charity Golf Day at Kempton Park Golf Club, raising R150 000 to support local causes.
Over 124 players and sponsors attended, with proceeds helping organisations and individuals in need, including the Gerald Fitzpatrick Home for Destitute Women and Pathways Roodepoort.
Founded in 1978, the Golden Oldies began by donating wheelchairs and have since contributed over R3 million in medical support, assistive devices, and other aid.
Event organiser Shen Reid said the golf day remains a vital part of their charitable work, highlighting the generosity of sponsors, players, and the community in sustaining their mission.
