2025 Festive Season Road Safety Campaign launched in Tshwane

The City of Tshwane has officially launched its 2025 Festive Season Road Safety Campaign.
Mayoral committee member for Community Safety, Hannes Coetzee, says the metro has strengthened its operational readiness through intensified law enforcement visibility, coordinated emergency response measures and partnerships with provincial and national agencies.
He says operational deployments will be data-driven, targeting identified high-risk routes and corridors where high accident rates were recorded in previous festive seasons.

Tembisa West Secondary School has been crowned champions of the 2025 Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition.
The competition empowers learners to use science, technology, engineering and mathematics to address pressing social and environmental challenges faced by their communities.
The school's groundbreaking energy efficiency AI system earned them first place for its potential to drive meaningful change in their school.
The achievement earned the learners R100,000 prize money which will go towards purchasing Stem equipment for their school.
In partnership with the State Information Technology Agency and the Department of Basic Education, Samsung hosted the awards ceremony at Indaba Hotel and Conference Centre in Johannesburg earlier this month.
