Humanoid Robots Join BMW Factory
Teaser / Tailpiece story
For the first time, BMW plans to use humanoid robots in car production in Europe. Two human-shaped robots developed by Hexagon Robotics are currently being tested at BMW's Leipzig factory and are expected to begin working on the production line this summer.
Unlike traditional robotic arms, humanoid robots are designed to move and work in spaces already built for people. Because they share a similar size and range of movement to humans, they can fit into existing factory setups without costly redesigns.
