Story 1
The Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality and Sports Sector Education and Training Authority CATHSSETA, is proud to announce the inaugural graduation of 164 learners who have completed the Occupational Chef NQF Level 5 Qualification Programme.

The programme is a transformative initiative aimed at tackling youth unemployment through relevant and practical training in the hospitality sector.

The graduation ceremonies were held in Durban on the 16th of May, and in Sandton on the 28th of May.

This is the first group of graduates to emerge from CATHSSETA's pioneering Chef Artisan Programme, that was introduced as a response to the 'Decade of the Artisan' campaign, a ministerial flagship programme launched in 2014, to encourage technical skills training and to promote artisanship as a viable and respected career path.
