CATHSSETA advances skills development in the hospitality Sector

The Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality and Sports Sector Education and Training Authority hosted
the inaugural graduation of 164 learners in Durban and in Sandton, in the month of May, who have completed the Occupational Chef Qualification Programme.
The programme is aimed at tackling youth unemployment through relevant and practical training in the hospitality sector.
CATHSSETA CEO Marks Thibela emphasized the broader vision of the programme and says the initiative remains committed to playing a pivotal role in addressing unemployment through the provision of relevant skills training.

Limpopo launches Winter Tourism Campaign

The Limpopo Tourism Agency, has unveiled its winter campaign to showcase tourism offerings during its warmer winter climate, in a bid to encourage tourism in the province.
The purpose of the event is to position the Province as a leading tourist destination in Southern Africa, to increase brand equity and awareness and to establish strategic business partnerships with tourism players in the province.
Tourists who visit camps including Mopani in the Kruger National Park from places as far as the Western Cape, get to enjoy nature while also experiencing a warmer climate.
Limpopo is one of the warmest regions in South Africa with an average daily high temperature of 26 degrees during the winter season.

The Third Pan-African Implementation and Partnership Conference on Water concluded in Lusaka, in Zambia, Yesterday.
The Conference brought together ministers, policymakers, development partners and civil society to discuss continental strategies for water and sanitation.
South Africa’s Minister of Water and Sanitation, Penny Majodina, reaffirmed the country’s commitment to regional cooperation and equitable access to water and sustainable development, in alignment with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the Africa Water Vision 2025.
