Thousands of vulnerable residents in Gauteng will now get faster access to food through a state-run distribution centre in Centurion, launched on 22 March.
The facility will deliver meals and food parcels more efficiently to child-headed households, unemployed families, and people on medication who cannot afford nutritious food.
It will help the province reach thousands and build a stronger support system.
Head of Provincial Social Development Department, Phumla Sekhonyane, says the new system will give young people real job opportunities, letting them play a hands-on role in getting food to families who need it most.
