GRUBhouse Glen Balad partnered with the Council for the Aged, Allen Park to host a burger fundraiser that brought the Kempton Park community together while raising money for older residents.
The initiative will help Allen Park provide meals, toiletries and other daily essentials for the more than 500 residents receiving independent living, assisted living and frail care services.
The successful partnership has also encouraged more community fundraising events to help the home continue providing quality care and support to its residents.

A Cape Town resident known as the Templar of the Cape is using a superhero costume to encourage people to take pride in their communities by cleaning up litter.
Over the past nine weeks, he has collected more than 40 bags of rubbish in areas between False Bay and Wynberg, using the initiative to draw attention to the importance of keeping public spaces clean.
He is now inviting others to join the movement, with plans to host the first Cleaners of the Cape community clean up on 9 August and inspire more residents to become everyday heroes.
