Round Table clubs serve 200 meals during winter outreach

Round Table Florida 21 joined forces with Northridge 117 and Sandown 150 to provide warm meals for vulnerable community members during a winter outreach at Tower of Life in Krugersdorp.
The volunteers served about 200 portions of soup and fresh bread rolls to residents at the shelter, as well as homeless people from the surrounding community.
The initiative also raised awareness of the vital role organisations such as Tower of Life play in providing accommodation, meals and support to people in need, with the help of community donations.

South African dancer wins five world championship gold medals

Fundraiser restores sight for 11 senior citizens

A community fundraising initiative has helped 11 senior citizens regain their sight through free cataract surgeries in Johannesburg.
The event, called A Night for Sight, was organised by Hello Poppy in support of the Eye Wish Foundation. The campaign originally aimed to fund four operations but raised enough to help 11 patients.
The life changing surgeries are helping older South Africans reconnect with their families and enjoy a better quality of life.

A chance encounter at an airport has changed the life of a partially disabled airport worker after passenger Lucinda Thackery launched a fundraiser to support him.
James Blair, a Navy veteran who continued working despite severe knee problems, received more than 180 thousand dollars, about R3.3 million, in donations after a video of him helping prepare a flight went viral on social media.
Thackery says she saw a need and took a chance without knowing whether people would respond.
