This Women's Month The WYPD Unveils Three Key Priorities for Women Trade Intervention

The Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Department has highlighted that as part of 2025 Women's month launch the Women Trade Intervention will focus on three priorities.
The plan includes supporting the informal economy, identifying key sectors for growth, and promoting collaboration for local investments.
To mark the official launch of 2025 Women’s Month, Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Sindisiwe Chikunga will hosts a Women Trade Intervention Dialogue.
Observed annually in August, Women’s Month pays tribute to the pivotal role played by women in the struggle against all forms of discrimination, subordination, and exploitation.
The launch will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Gauteng on Friday.

Children With Cleft & Craniofacial Conditions Get reconstructive surgeries

The Western Cape Health Department has partnered with the Smile Foundation, Tygerberg Hospital, and Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital to provide reconstructive surgeries for children with cleft and craniofacial conditions.
The initiative launched in line with National Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness Month in July, is helping young patients gain a second chance at a healthier, more confident life.

LEGO Celebrates Ndebele Art and Culture

South African designer Lindsay Swartbooi has created a LEGO set inspired by Ndebele heritage, titled "Explore Africa! Ndebele Tribe Hut Set".
It's a tribute to the vibrant Ndebele culture, specifically the women's practice of painting geometric patterns on their homes.
To become an official LEGO set, it needs 10,000 votes on the LEGO Ideas platform.
The build features curved architecture, a swing-open thatch-textured roof, and customizable murals.
